I’m writing an essay based on this primary text i was given which is the most gross racist piece of garbage and completely riddled with racial slurs and dehumanisation
but like morally it feels too awful to repeat that shit even as a quote in an academic context where only my marker will read it. but if i don’t refer to it my essay makes no sense. what the fuck. why did i decide to study humanities what is wrong with me.
Well, the other day, a Christian politician said that God sent AIDS to kill gays.
When you love and accept yourself, when you know who really cares about you, and when you learn from your mistakes, then you stop caring about what people who don’t know you think.
And seriously you guys, I can’t stress enough how sweet of a cat Momma is. She has never hissed at me or attempted to scratch me or the kids. She got into the cat carrier pretty easily when we brought her home. She lets the kids hug her and me pick her up. She didn’t even really fight me when I tried to give her a bath, just kicked her back legs nervously and then purred all through the washcloth bath I gave her instead.
Her and Maxie do NOT get along though. She darted out of the bedroom last night and into the living room where Maxie was and it was very nearly a fight. With the kittens, Maxie acts like she did with Chairman at first- she watches them closely and hisses if they get too close to her, but she doesn’t try to hurt them. With Momma though, she’s ready to fight. I’m hoping they will warm up to each other as they get used to each other’s smells but I don’t know if they will ever be friends when Momma is protecting her kittens and Maxie is protecting her house.
Maxie is a cat who gets stressed out pretty easily so we’ve been giving her extra love and attention to try and help her out with bringing so many new cats into the house. I think once we just have our two kittens everything will be fine because Maxie doesn’t feel so threatened by kittens. Maybe they will surprise us and end up friends by the time the kittens are old enough to find other homes. We’ll see.
I was in a similar situation about a year ago! We found four very young, sick, starving kittens in my backyard. No sign of mum unfortunately. They had cat flu so the shelter was going to put them down. They were SO much work to look after and they kinda destroyed my house… but I was glad I did it. When they were old enough I found a family for the two boys and kept the two girls. I have a much older cat that now tolerates them, but it’s been a difficult year. She would frequently be hissing and swiping at the kittens but they never seemed to get the message and would just keep trying to be friends with her. She also refuses to use the same litter tray as them but because the kittens happily use whatever tray, she goes and pees on my clothes instead. It’s been a nightmare! With time and patience I’ve finally figured out a routine of having them locked in different areas of the house at night and access to the outside during the day and this seems to keep the territorialism to a minimum, so they just keep out of each others way. I’ve given up all hope of them ever being best buds though. Fingers crossed your older cat is less stubborn than my old girl!

LET ME TELL YOU A THING
THIS IS A LEGIT THING
THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT PEOPLE DO TO GET EMUS TO COME CLOSE
Apparently you lie on the ground on your back and move your arms and legs.
And the emus are very curious and come over like, “The fuck is that.”
And that’s literally what it is. They come over wondering what the fuck you’re doing
This might be my favorite piece of information I have ever learned.
GET OUT LOL
While wearing the Moonwatch, the moon is possible to observe despite potentially cloudy positions. By studying the moon’s different phases, one can determine how the moon affects their behaviors and moods. A quick push of a button changes the Moonwatch into a normal watch, with a black background during the day and a white background during the night. Found on Behance.
Hey, urban witches: check it out.
